  • What Is Liquid Seaweed for Lawns?

Liquid seaweed for lawns is absorbed directly through the grass leaves, making it one of the fastest ways to green up between your main seasonal feeds. Conventional liquid grass feeds work well for a rapid boost - but they come with timing restrictions, dry-weather warnings and a scorch risk that limits when you can apply them.

Our organic seaweed fertiliser sidesteps all of that, with a much wider application window and benefits that go well beyond a short-term colour hit.

Discover how and when to use it
  • How Does it Work on Lawns?

    Liquid
seaweed isn't a conventional lawn fertiliser - it's a biostimulant, and that makes it one of the most versatile and low-risk products you can add to a lawn care routine. Applied consistently hrough the season, it delivers:

    • Stronger root development - deeper roots mean better drought tolerance through dry spells
    • Richer, greener grass - chlorophyll precursors improve colour without a
      nitrogen surge
    • Improved soil biology - feeds the microbial life beneath your turf for long-term sward health
    • Faster recovery - particularly effective after scarification and overseeding in autumn

Used alongside your existing seasonal lawn feed programme, it makes everything else work harder.

  • How to Apply

    Dilution:

10ml per litre of water - one standard cap per 5-litre watering can.

    Application:

Apply as a foliar spray using a garden or knapsack sprayer for even coverage, or water directly into the root zone using a watering can. Both methods are effective; the sprayer is faster for larger areas.

    Frequency:

Every two to three weeks from March through to October. Monthly through winter for ongoing stress resistance.

    Conditions:

Apply liquid seaweed in the early morning or on an overcast day. Avoid application in direct hot sun. Allow the surface to dry before pets and children return to the lawn. Do not apply to newly seeded grass until it has been mown at least twice.

  • What to Expect

    • Richer, deeper green colour within 7–10 days of first application
    • Stronger root system over the first season of use - turf becomes noticeably more drought-tolerant
    • Improved recovery after carification, heavy wear or overseeding
    • Reduced boom-and-bust growth cycle compared to synthetic nitrogen feeds
    • Healthier soil biology beneath
the turf, measurable over a full growing season
    • No scorch risk - safe to apply
throughout the summer months when conventional liquid lawn fertilisers cannot
      be used
  • Safe For

    • All grass types including fine ornamental turf, family lawns and sports surfaces
    • Direct application to actively growing lawn grass throughout the season
    • Use via watering can, knapsack sprayer, hose-end applicator or boom sprayer
    • Amenity turf, golf courses, bowling greens and sports grounds
    • Safe for pets and children once the treated surface has dried

  • When to Use Liquid Seaweed on Your Lawn

Timing matters less with liquid seaweed
than with most lawn treatments - there's no scorch risk, no cut-off date and no blackout periods. Apply fortnightly from March through to October as the backbone of your organic lawn care routine, dropping to a monthly maintenance dose through winter.

  • The Key to Green Grass?

    A great-looking lawn isn't down
to one product - it's a combination of consistent mowing, smart feeding and healthy soil. The lawn care tips that make the biggest difference work with the grass rather than against it, and that's exactly where liquid seaweed earns its place in a programme.
